Dr. Akanbi is the Founder and Managing Member of ARS Educational Services LLC, where she provides literacy assessments, reading consultation services, professional development, and remedial reading instruction. Through her work, she has helped countless students strengthen their reading abilities while supporting educators in implementing evidence-based literacy practices.
In addition to leading ARS Educational Services, Dr. Akanbi serves as Professor Emeritus of Reading Education at Kennesaw State University, where she dedicated many years to preparing future educators and advancing literacy education programs.

Throughout her professional journey, Dr. Akanbi has served in numerous educational leadership roles, including:
- Remedial Reading Teacher
- Reading Coordinator
- Program Developer
- Department Chair
- Director of a K-12 Reading Institute
Her extensive experience has enabled her to influence literacy instruction at multiple levels, from individual student support to teacher preparation and educational program development.
Dr. Akanbi has also been instrumental in developing graduate-level reading education programs, training educators, and promoting instructional practices that support diverse and multilingual learners.
